Going on Retreat

I will be on retreat for the next week at the monasteries of the Order of Julian of Norwich in Wisconsin. Whether or not I have any spiritual insights, I should at least escape the heat!

Unexpected lunch at Kanuga

I am at the Province IV Deputies meeting this week.  Today I had lunch with Kendall Harmon of titus online.  The two of us have some pretty divergent views on many of the issues in the church, but we had a pleasant and civil conversation.  Maybe "Bonds of Affection" ARE enough to keep us together.....

A Sermon Not Preached

The sermon I didn't preach on Sunday, September 11th this year is on my personal blog here.  After working it through with Micky (my wife) we both felt it had too much anger and was not appropriate to be preached from the pulpit.  We both felt it had a lot of merit, but I need more distance from the events before preaching on it.  It's too personal right now.

Going to General Convention

I was elected as a clerical deputy to the General Convention in 2006 by diocesan convention last weekend.  May God have mercy on my soul!

A member of our mission noticed today that the National Church web site is using a picture from our (rather amazing) memorial garden as a graphic on their search page.  Very Cool!
