According to a London Times report last Sunday, Nigerian Primate Akinola has suggested that the Church of England be suspended from the Anglican Consultative Council due to the votes of it's bishops sitting in the House of Lords to allow same-sex unions in England. Evidently, the first version of the article was taken off the web and "toned down" for reasons unknown. The original can be found on EVN here. Of course, the idea that the C of E can be suspended from the Anglican Communion is pretty novel, considering that the mark of being in the Anglican Communion has always been being in communion with the C of E. Strange times we live in. How this will pan out is pretty much up in the air.
There is a good analysis of what this might mean over at praeludium.

The orginal story (that was "toned down") has now been authenticated. The story was based upon a taped interview. I feel like Alice lost in wonderland. Charles+
