• The Gospel is both a source of comfort and challenge.
• If we receive only comfort, then we are missing half of it.
• In this story, we stand as much with the Pharisees as with the healed blind man.
• God constantly asks us if we are using our faith as a way to prop up our own personal preferences, or as a way to reflect the will of a compassionate God.
